JA BizTown student experience combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning opportunity allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks and vote for mayor. Students can connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. HC*EXCELL provides funding through donors to the JA BizTown experience for all eleven Hamblen County elementary 5th grade students. This includes workforce training, on-site day in Clinton, TN, transportation and T-shirts. This is one of the most talked about programs among Hamblen County students.
