Lisa Kelley

Dr. Lisa Kelley has made East Tennessee her home for many years. As a graduate of Hamblen County public schools, Walters State Community College, and East Tennessee State University, she understands firsthand the value of a strong community education system with meaningful opportunities for career exposure. Dr. Kelley is honored to serve on the HC*EXCELL Board and is committed to strengthening educational opportunities, supporting student success, and fostering pathways for workforce development.

Before transitioning into academia, Dr. Kelley spent more than two decades in hospital nursing and leadership, serving in roles ranging from bedside nurse to nurse manager, quality and regulatory leader, and ultimately Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. In her most recent hospital leadership role, Dr. Kelley was a strong supporter of Hamblen County Health Science Education and CTE programs, facilitating numerous student learning opportunities within the hospital setting. Today, she teaches future nurses and is dedicated to preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and compassion needed to serve their communities.

She continues to mentor emerging nurse leaders, contribute to academic and community programs, and support initiatives that promote strong educational foundations for children and families. Dr. Kelley is married and has a daughter who attends Hamblen County Schools. She believes the Lakeway region is an excellent place to live and raise a family, and she values the collaboration among schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that work together to expand opportunities for all.
